Danish artist Bjørn Okholm Skaarup's 2 and a half ton, 15 foot tall bronze sculpture was inspired by Edgar Degas' "Little Dancer Aged Fourteen". The installation in New York City's Dante Square is part of a the Parks' Department's Art in the Parks program and will be on view from February through July 31, 2017. Created to fill a need the artist said "I think a fun way to revitalize themes from art history that have been forgotten lately is through animal allegories"
