Times Square Valentine's Heart

Times Square Valentine's HeartTimes Square Valentine's Heart, large 8 foot tall modern art heart decorates Duffy Square, which is the northern triangle of Times Square in New York City.
It is located between 45th and 47th Streets, Broadway and Seventh Avenue. It is a popular tourist destination and is well known for housing TKTS (seen in background), a destination point for those in search of reduced-price theater tickets.

The Times Square Alliance commissioned Gage/Clemenceau Architects to create a new work of art for Times Square that celebrates the uniqueness of its home. While the design of the heart is the work of Gage/ Clemenceau Architects, the production involved one hot-rod car design company, several robotic metal-cutting robots, an Ivy League University, a concert lighting expert , a graphic designer, a copywriter, a sculptor, and over 350 square feet of a material typically used for kitchen countertops.

Empire State Building Tower and Mast.

A dirigible mast, now the base of the TV tower, was part of the original construction of the Building. One attempt to moor a privately owned blimp was successful for three minutes. But during a second attempt, in September 1931, a Navy Blimp was almost upended and nearly swept away celebrities attending the historic affair, while the water ballast drenched pedestrians several blocks away. The mooring mast idea was ultimately abandoned. Empire State Building: Official Internet Site
