The bronze statue, near the 72nd stree traverse at East Drive is by John Quincy Adams Ward, It was gifted to Central Park by the New England Society in 1885. One of the best sledding spots in the Park.

Merle Haggard

Merle Ronald Haggard (April 6, 1937 – April 6, 2016) Merle Haggard, Country Music Association's performer of the year in 1971.
