The only known photograph of Frédéric Chopin March 1, 1810 – October 17, 1849 by Louis-Auguste Bisson (1814–1876). Chopin was born in the village of Żelazowa Wola, in the Duchy of Warsaw, to a French-expatriate father and Polish mother. He was considered a child-prodigy. This Image is in the public domain because its copyright has expired. This applies to the United States, where Works published prior to 1923 were copyright protected for a maximum of 75 years.
