Constructed between October 25, 1880 to October 27, 1884 by the architectural firm of Henry Janeway Hardenbergh who was commissioned to create the design for Edward Clark, head of the Singer Sewing Machine Company. The firm also designed the Plaza Hotel.

Hey, there!
When I first saw this photo, I thought recognized it, though I have never been to NYC. I read what you wrote about it's history, when it was built, for and by who(m?), etc. But, oddly, all of that pales next to the fact that it is also where John Lennon fell from a bullet.
A moment in time can sure change a world.
Thank you, my dear!
Su
Hi Su, yeah i felt people who care would know, no need to hit the point to hard, and as i live and did live just a few blocks away, it's something that goes unsaid but yes is always there.
