Columbus Circle on a Cloudy Day

Columbus Circle on a Cloudy DayColumbus Circle, named for Christopher Columbus is located at the intersection of Broadway, Central Park West, Central Park South (59th Street), and Eighth Avenue, at the southwest corner of Central Park.
The monument to Columbus at the center, created by Italian sculptor Gaetano Russo, is the point from which distances to and from New York City are officially measured. We are looking north up Broadway on a rainy day, July 14, 2010. The Time Warner Center, world headquarters of the Time Warner corporation, is located on our left, to our right is the Trump International Hotel and Tower, with famous steel globe at its base.
