Scorpio is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Scorpius. Under the tropical zodiac, Scorpio is occupied by the Sun from October 23 to November 21,and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from November 16 to December 15. The opposite sign to Scorpio is Taurus, and both signs are commonly known as the most sexually-responsive of all zodiacal members.

Scorpio is the eighth sign of the Zodiac and associated with intensity, passion, and power. Individuals born under this sign are thought to have a complex, analytical, patient, keenly perceptive, inquisitive, focused, determined, hypnotic, and self-contained character, but one which is also prone to extremity, jealousy, envy, secretiveness, possessiveness, cruelty and cunning. In terms of anatomy, Scorpio is said to rule the pelvis, reproductive system and urinary system. In terms of geography Scorpio is linked with Egypt, Syria, Algeria and Morocco.

Virgo is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Virgo. Under the tropical zodiac, Virgo is occupied by the Sun from August 23 to September 22, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from September 17 to October 17. The opposite sign to Virgo is Pisces.

Virgo is the sixth sign of the Zodiac, a set of astrological signs, and associated with purity and service. Individuals born under this sign are thought to have a diligent, analytical, self-sufficient, controlled, orderly, and modest character but one which is also prone to fussiness, perfectionism, harsh criticism, coldness, and hypochondria. In terms of anatomy, Virgo is said to rule the abdominal region, large and small intestines, spleen, solar plexus, lower lobes of the liver, pancreas, portal veins, umbilicus, hands, nails, and carpal bones. Today, some astrologers believe that the dwarf planets Sedna and Eris are or will be the planetary rulers/co-rulers of Virgo. Many astrologers who study the powerful asteroid Chiron, known as "the wounded healer", believe it has the best claim upon the rulership of Virgo. Currently, the vast majority of astrologers still think of Mercury as the planetary ruler of this sign.

Astrological Signs Leo

An unidentified lady, referred to by her nom-de-plume, Jehoshaphat Aspin, designed these whimsical astronomy cards. Most of the names of the zodiacal constellations date from the early Babylonian period, possibly from the Sumerians. Leo is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Leo. The Easter Bunny is a traditional holiday character in the form of a giving rabbit which is said to leave gifts, usually Easter baskets for children at Easter (or at springtime). It originates in Western European cultures, where it is a hare rather than a rabbit. The Easter Bunny is an example of folklore mythology and is sometimes taught to children to believe in. Some people don't approve of teaching of an existence of the Easter Bunny. Not everyone believes in the Easter Bunny, and many, if not most, eventually "grow out of" their belief. Other prominent examples of this are Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.

Resurrection of Jesus by Matthias Grünewald, From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Image in higher resolution (712 × 1185 pixel, file size: 133 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg) Matthias Grünewald (c.1470 – August 31, 1528), is a highly regarded figure from the German Renaissance. He painted primarily religious works, especially somber and awe-filled crucifixion scenes. His real name was Mathis Gothart Neithart. A 17th-century writer, Joachim von Sandrart, mistakenly identified him by the name Grünewald; his real name was not discovered till the 1920s. He was born in Würzburg in the 1470s.

He served as court painter and hydraulic engineer to two successive archbishops of Mainz, Uriel von Gemmingen and Albrecht von Brandenburg, in the German Rhineland from about 1510 to 1525. He left this post apparently because of Lutheran sympathies. Grünewald died in Halle in 1528.

The first day of Spring. An equinox in astronomy is the event when the Sun can be observed to be directly above the Earth's equator, occurring around March 20 and September 23 each year. More technically, the equinox happens when the Sun is at one of two opposite points on the celestial sphere where the celestial equator and ecliptic intersect. In a wider sense, the equinoxes are the two days each year when the center of the Sun spends an equal amount of time above and below the horizon at every location on Earth. The word equinox derives from the Latin words aequus (equal) and nox (night).

Vernal equinox and autumnal equinox. These names are direct derivatives of Latin (ver = spring, autumnus = autumn), and as such more apt to be found in writings. Although in principle they are subject to the same problem as the spring/autumn names, their use over the centuries has fixed them to the viewpoint of the northern hemisphere. As such the vernal equinox is the equinox where the Sun passes from south to north, and is a zeropoint in some celestial coordinate systems. The name of the other equinox is used less often.

Origins of the Tarot - Michael Dummett's research led him to conclude that the Tarot deck was invented in northern Italy in the fifteenth century. It is believed that tarot cards were introduced into southern France from northern Italy when the French conquered Milan in the Piedmont in 1499. The antecedents of the Tarot de Marseille were probably introduced into southern France at around that time. The game of tarot died out in Italy but survived in France and Switzerland. When the game was reintroduced into northern Italy, the Marseille designs of the cards were also reintroduced to that region.

Tarot de Marseille - The name Tarot de Marseille is not of particularly ancient vintage; it was coined in the 1930s by the French cartomancer Paul Marteau, who gave this collective name to a variety of closely related designs that were being made in the city of Marseille in the south of France, a city that was a centre of playing card manufacture, and were (in earlier, contemporaneous, and later times) also made in other cities in France. The Tarot de Marseille is one of the standards from which many tarot decks of the nineteenth century and later are derived.

The first federal statute imposing the legal obligation to pay a federal income tax was adopted by Congress in 1862, to pay for the Civil War. The 1862 levied a 3% tax on incomes above $600, rising to 5% for incomes above $10,000. Rates were raised in 1864. This income tax was repealed in 1872, but a new income tax statute was enacted as part of the 1894 Tariff Act.[1] However, in 1895 the Supreme Court struck down a portion of the statute as unconstitutional — specifically, the tax on income from property — as an unapportioned direct tax.

At that time, the United States Constitution specified that Congress may only impose a "direct" tax if it apportions that tax among the states according to each state's census population.[2] In its 1895 decision the Supreme Court held that a tax on income from property was a direct tax under the Constitution, and so had to be apportioned.

The death and resurrection of Jesus are two events in the New Testament in which Jesus is crucified on one day (the "Day of Preparation", i.e. the day before the Sabbath, the last day of the week), then resurrected on the third.[1] These two events are remembered by Christians, one on Good Friday and the other on every Sunday, but especially Easter Sunday. They are part of the core doctrines of the Christian faith.

While during Lent and the Easter season the death and resurrection of Jesus are celebrated most solemnly, Christians have from the earliest times celebrated the resurrection every Sunday, as Justin Martyr described in the mid-second century. Much later, in the fourth century, Roman Emperor Constantine I made Sunday a public holiday.

Easter, also known as Pascha (Greek Πάσχα: Passover), the Feast of the Resurrection, the Sunday of the Resurrection, or Resurrection Day, is the most important religious feast of the Christian liturgical year, observed between late March and late April (early April to early May in Eastern Christianity). It celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, which his followers believe occurred on the third day after his death by crucifixion some time in the period AD 27 to 33 (see Good Friday). In the Roman Catholic Church, Easter is actually an eight-day feast called the Octave of Easter.

Easter also refers to the season of the church year, lasting for fifty days, from Easter Sunday through Pentecost.

April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day, though not a holiday in its own right, is a notable day celebrated in many countries on April 1. The day is marked by the commission of hoaxes and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends and neighbors, or sending them on fools' errands, the aim of which is to embarrass the gullible. In some countries, April Fools' jokes (also called "April Fools") are only made before midday. It is also widely celebrated on the Internet.

The origin of this custom has been much disputed. Many theories have been suggested.

What seems certain is that it is in some way or other a relic of those once universal festivities held at the vernal equinox, which, beginning on old New Year's Day, the 25th of March, ended on the 1st of April.

Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle (The Cougar)

Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle (The Cougar) A 6x6 EOD variant of the MRAP JERRV undergoes the first shot of a four shot series of test explosions at the Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) in Maryland.

All MRAP vehicles are tested at the ATC and this vehicle met the threshold.

Marines from 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment's engineer platoon are sporting a new ride on the roads of Iraq. The Cougar Hardened Engineer Vehicle was specifically designed for engineers and the jobs they do. The vehicle is on duty with Marines in Iraq. High Resolution Image.

The Cougar, a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle, is the next generation of combat vehicles and is currently being used in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The v-shaped hull assists deflection of a mine or improvised explosive device blast away from the vehicle�s capsule, keeping the passengers safe and the vehicle intact.
The ballistic glass with gun ports allow the passengers to engage insurgents ambush attempts without leaving the cab.

Ouida From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Ouida (January 7, 1839 – January 25, 1908) was the pen name of the English novelist Maria Louise Ramé (although she preferred to be known as Marie Louise de la Ramée). Ramé was born in Bury St. Edmunds, England, to a French father and an English mother. She derived her pen name from her own baby-talk nickname for "Louise". During her career, she wrote more than 40 novels, children's books and collections of short stories and essays. She was an animal rights activist and animal rescuer, and at times owned as many as thirty dogs.
